September's Special Appeal
Allegheny Synod’s Seminarian Endowment Fund
The Allegheny Synod seeks to encourage those preparing to serve the Church as pastors through financial support from the Synod’s Seminarian Endowment Fund. The cost of the academic experience which our seminaries provide to equip our pastors for parish ministry exceeds $50,000 per student over the four years of post-baccalaureate studies. These costs are, presently, the responsibility of the seminarian. Through the Seminarian Endowment Fund, the Allegheny Synod makes grants to assist those preparing for the Ordained Ministry to help with these costs and minimize the debt which many new pastors carry with them into the Ministry. Through the weeks of August, please share special offerings in support of the the Allegheny Synod’s Seminarian Endowment Fund. Your gifts will benefit the church for years to come as our seminarians serve in the mission fields of the Allegheny Synod and the ELCA. Please make checks payable to “Trinity Lutheran Church” and note “Seminarian Endowment Fund” on the memo line of your check.

Annual “Youth Ministries” Kick-Off Luncheon

We’ll be gathering for a simple lunch and time to look at the schedule of youth ministries and activities for the upcoming year... Youth Group, Christmas Drama, Weekend Retreats, Day-Trips, Special Events, and some early plans for the 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering. Youth and Parents (and siblings) are encouraged to join us. A sign up sheet is in Trinity Hall!
Confirmation Ministry Registration, with 9-10 grade youth and families, will also happen at this luncheon... Be sure to join us as we discuss the Worship, Learning, Fellowship, Service and Mentoring components of this ministry.
