Adult Forum...
Adult Forum is on Summer Recess
Our current “Adult Forum” series with is “Growing Disciples”, a Bible Study from the ELCA’s Book of Faith Initiative, which encourages us to grow and mature in our lives as followers of Jesus. We’re talking about what it means to be a Follower, a Learner, a Minister, a Living Example, a Witness, and a Leader. These presentations and discussions, led by Pr Short, are held in Trinity Hall on Sunday mornings, at 9:45 am.
Matins & Bible Study
Matins & Bible Study are on Summer Recess
. ... Bible Study is one of the most basic and traditional of Christian Disciplines, and is the mark of a devout, alive, and maturing Faith... Gathering enables us to read, explore, and reflect on the Scriptures together with fellow Christians. Bible Study is a time-tested way to a deeper and abiding Faith...
... Our weekday Bible Study (which we begin with Morning Prayer/ Matins), is exploring the readings of the Sunday Lectionary from the previous Sunday, to more fully appreciate the texts, their images, and their implications for Christian Faith & Living. Bring along a Bible, invite a friend, and plan to join us!
Inquirers
Class
These studies are led at various times throughout the year
by the pastoral staff to introduce new-comers to the basic
doctrines of the Christian Faith and the unique insights and
practices which we, as Lutherans, teach. Please contact the
Church Office for the exact schedule of dates and times. Please contact Pastor Short for the exact schedule of dates and times.
Confirmation
Ministry
Confirmation Ministry is a process by which Youth and their
parents, Mentors, and other parishioners worship, study,
fellowship, and serve together in preparation for the Rite
of Confirmation/Affirmation of Faith. Confirmation Ministry
has 5 components...Worship, Learning, Fellowship, Service,
and Mentoring. We worship and pray, explore the Scriptures
and the History of Gods Grace in the midst of His
People, enjoy outings, retreats, and Youth Events, find
meaningful ways to explore Christs call to experience
the fullness of living through service to others, and develop
a relationship with a mentor, who will invest time and energy
in the development of our Faith. Through these activities
and events, we explore the significance of our Baptism into
the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We seek
to develop our relationships with our brothers and sisters
in Christ, and to more fully engage with living out our
Faith each day. After two years (typically grades 9 & 10) of faithful involvement in the 5 components, youth are
invited by the Pastoral Staff to share in the final preparations
for the Rite of Confirmation. This involves a series of
sessions/discussions which are typically scheduled for Sunday
afternoons. Contact Pastor Short for
details.
